9:30am Auditing Safety Management Systems
This presentation provides the experienced safety professional in any industry with tips, tools, skills, and techniques necessary to conduct a successful SMS audit for the organization. Students will compare their management system elements with international standards, will be provided with insight for checklists and software, and will get a glimpse of the ISO 45001 standard to be published in late 2016.

9:30am So You Need to Make a Presentation...Rut, Ro.
Information that safety professionals convey can range from very technical to soft skills. The vehicles we use to convey our message can increase as well as decrease our effectiveness. This presentation covers some of the pitfalls as well as some good attributes that can make or break our presentation.
10:45am Dropped Objects - the Other Fall Protection
This session will assist participants with preventing falling objects at their jobsite. Participants will learn how to enhance their current inspection, job safety analysis, and incident investigation programs to include hazards related to dropped objects. We will discuss current applicable regulations and a hierarchy of controls.
10:45am Three Big E's in Safety Leadership
Being engaged in Safety for close to 25 years, this session will use an accumulation of all my years of motivating others to behave and work safely, from a local life guard to VP for Health Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality. I developed my theories about motivating myself and others to work safely per the basic elements that influence human behavior. I have adopted my version of Human Safety Leadership Needs from Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs. My version promotes and sustains safe work by everyone.
1:30pm The What & How of OSHA Enforcement on MSDs in Healthcare
Over 50% of injuries and illnesses in 2013 among nursing assistants were musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Inpatient healthcare workers are consistently exposed to MSDs, workplace violence, and slips, trips and falls. No matter what your industry, this session will provide info about OSHA’s MSD enforcement initiatives and simple ways to address these hazards.
2:45pm How to: OSHA PSM Process Hazard Analysis
The major objective of process safety management (PSM) of highly hazardous chemicals is to prevent unwanted releases of hazardous chemicals especially into locations that could expose employees and others to serious hazards. A process hazard analysis (PHA), or evaluation, is one of the most important elements of the PSM program. This presentation will show attendees how a PHA can be conducted utilizing a simplified, in class process as a working example.
2:45pm Employee Drug Use in Industry
Substance abuse is a worldwide problem and is present in every community. The problem has existed for years and is becoming more prevalent. Substance abuse affects all communities and all members of the community. With a focus on drugs that are commonly used and readily available, this presentation is practical and realistic, and provides an understanding of the scope of the drug problem and its effects on our community.

When e-mail appeared in the 90’s, Millennials were barely out of diapers. Today they are a major focus as they progressively become a larger part of the workforce. Millennials have special quirks, as did every preceding generation. In this session, we will explore the priorities of generational groups with respect to successful communication. The goal is to help you engage everyone's considerable potential.
