TAURIELLO

Director, Div. Workers' Compensation

Paul has been Director of the Division of Workers' Compensation for the past five years.  He was Deputy Director and Associate Director for about ten years prior.  While working at the Division for the past eighteen years, he has overseen all of its programs including claims management, coverage enforcement, medical policy and cost containment.  His areas of focus have included risk management, insurance and employer programs.  Before joining the division, Paul was an executive for an airline with regional operations across North America.

MEET TRISH 

ENNIS

Sr. Loss Control Consultant

Trish has over 25 years-experience in many different areas including but not limited to construction, multifamily/property management, health care, restaurant and hospitality as well as zoo and animal management.

 

Trish has served as an elected volunteer leader for ASSE and was the Society’s 100th President in 2015. Prior to her role as President Trish served on the Board of Directors as the VP for the Council on Professional Development, and as the Region 2 Vice President.

MEET LISA BENNETT 

Compliance Safety & Health Officer, OSHA

Ms. Bennett is a committed safety and health professional with a passion for ensuring workers have safe work to do and a safe place to do it.  She conducts workplace inspections, but finds the greatest reward in educating employers and employees about current issues in occupational hazards and OSHA compliance.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management.  Her undergraduate degree is Human Factors Engineering with an emphasis in Ergonomics.

MEET JOSEPH LOVETT

Veteran, Volunteer, Peace Keeper

Joseph “Joey” Lovett is a Denver native. Serving in the US Navy as an AEGIS Fire Controlman (Surface Warfare Specialist), Joey was stationed aboard the USS PORT ROYAL (CG-73) based out of Pearl Harbor, HI.  Currently, Joey works as a Police Officer for the State of Colorado and is an FBI Trained Crisis Negotiator, POST Firearms instructor, PPCT arrest control instructor, and has taught at the police academy level. He earned his BSBA in Business Admin and is currently pursuing his master’s degree from Regis University in Criminology.

MEET BRITT HOWARD

VP-HSSEQ, CH2M-HILL

Britt routinely speaks at industry conferences, has been quoted in industrial magazines, and was an instructor at various colleges for 7 years.  His experience in HSE management/ leadership -from HSE specialist to Firefighter to Vice President- offers those he mentors, instructs and serves thoughtful insight on the importance of safety from his HSE adventures spanning 31 states, eight countries and several continents mostly in the Petro Chemical Industry.

Britt’s proudest accomplishment is the continued positive safety performance of the sites and groups with whom he has served. 

MEET GLENN BOTT

Coach, Consultant, Speaker

Glenn is enthusiastic about life and everything he does! He developed Business Aikido based upon his corporate, entrepreneurial, and speaking experience plus his studies in aikido and personal power. The tenets of full responsibility, focus, and attitude are the essence of all success. Glenn was a research manager for Coors Brewery for 18 years before leaving to start his own new product development business. An avid bicyclist, he suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and nearly died after being struck by a SUV. He now speaks and coaches on the tools and techniques he used to reinvent himself after recovering from his TBI. Glenn leads others to full realization of their awesomeness and teaches them to move forward and create the life of their dreams.

MEET RICHARD BROWN

Speaker, Trainer, Consultant

Richard Co-founded Professional Resource Enhancement (PRE) as a means of bringing his unique vision of sales and leadership training to small and medium size businesses.  Richard has been putting together his own leadership puzzle for his entire adult life. Out of college, he served as an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps.  With his 33 years at Pfizer, he was a driving force behind an in house program designed to develop mentors among senior members of the sales force.

Richard lives in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho with his wife, Beth and they have 3 three grown children.

She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, is an OSHA Outreach Trainer for Construction, and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). She employs an intellectual, practical, and creative approach to the toughest health, safety, and environment challenges. 

Currently, Abby is responsible for risk control, program development, training and regulatory compliance for construction, manufacturing, energy, beverage, hospitality, and retail clients throughout the US and Canada.

MEET LYNN RIEMER

President, ACT on Drugs, Inc.

As an accomplished speaker, trainer and advocate on issues relating to substance abuse.  Lynn has in depth chemistry knowledge of drugs, having served with DEA and on the North Metro Drug Task Force. Lynn has spoken to over 250,000 students, community child advocacy groups, industrial and professional groups, and employees of local and State governmental agencies about drug awareness, recognition, and prevention. She is a recognized expert in Methamphetamine, Manufacturing, Child Abuse, Parental Issues, Health Effects, and Contamination in many counties in Colorado.

He is the Director of Health & Safety Compliance at LTE, has 28 years of environmental consulting experience including project and personnel management.  Pat assists clients in identifying areas of potential risk and discovering effective and efficient plans to reduce those risks.  As National Program Manager for Shell Oil Products US and Shell Exploration and Production Company, he has served as company liaison and manager for pipeline, terminals, and retail facilities effectively negotiating with client representatives, legal counsel and applicable agencies.

Styling Sales Manager, Nordstrom

Chelsea Manages out of the Nordstrom Park Meadows store.  With a degree in Apparel Merchandising and Business, she leads a team of Personal Stylists throughout the store. Chelsea guides and develops her salespeople to enhance their selling and service skills.  Blending brand knowledge with Nordstrom's infamous customer service enables her to influence departments store wide.   Chelsea develops and executes store wide customer communication plans at individual and store level to make customers feel good every day.

MEET GARY JENKINS

Loss Control Mngr, OnPoint Underwriting

Gary is the Loss Control Manager at OnPoint Underwriting.  He has been a Certified Safety Professional for over 25 years. Additional certifications include CFPS and ARM.  He received his MBA in 2005.   Gary was co-author in the book SARResponder: Search & Rescue Training for the Field Responder (2015).  Beyond developing and presenting scores of presentations, he attained the bronze status in Toastmaster as well as presents a motivational speech on operational improvement.

Kristin manages the Denver office. She focuses her practice on occupational safety & health and mine safety & health. Ms. White represents general industry, construction, coal, oil and gas, energy, automotive, manufacturing, chemical, warehousing and mining clients with regard to their regulatory safety and health matters and in crisis management. Ms. White has authored written materials and presented training programs on avoiding employment discrimination claims and various safety and health topics under OSHA and MSHA. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Occupational Safety and Health Committee and the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.

MEET PHIL CLARK

As an EHS professional, Phil interacts regularly with power systems engineering and hydrogen fuel cell researchers as they try to make our society a little more sustainable. 

Prior to working in Colorado, Phil worked as a civilian for the US Navy in San Diego , CA as an industrial hygienist for the Navy SEALs, helicopter maintenance crews and materials science researchers. He is probably the only industrial hygienist you know who has worn body armor during a sampling event.

 

MEET DR. JOHN NICOLETTI 

Owner, Nicoletti-Flater Associates

Police Psychologist specializing in detecting and disrupting proactive and reactive attack behaviors, trauma recovery, psychological incident command issues and high stress occupational interventions.  Dr. Nicoletti was on-scene at the Columbine school shooting and the Platte Canyon High School shooting in 2006. He also responded to the Aurora Theater shooting in July 2012, and the Arapahoe High School shooting in December 2013. He is on the Colorado Governor’s Task Force on Expert Emergency Response and is past Chair of the Police Psychologist Section for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

MEET PETE FLATTEN

Sr. Emergency Response Coord, Encana

He is the former staff physiologist for the Air Force Fitness Program Office at Brooks AFB, TX, where he managed several world-wide programs related to active duty health and wellness.  He moved to CO in 2001 and began a career in the oil and gas industry where he worked on drilling and workover rigs and held various safety positions including Training Manager and Assistant EHS Director.  He currently works for Encana as their Sr. Emergency Response Coordinator for U.S. operations.  Pete attained his CSP certification in 2008 and holds several advanced degrees.

MEET DAVE JEARY

Sr. Safety Specialist, City of Aurora

He has 15 years experience in EHS management, including 9 years in Research & Development and Manufacturing along with nearly two years of construction experience prior to starting with the City.  Dave's educational background is an MS in Environmental, Health and Safety Management and a BS in Environmental Studies.  He moved to Denver from New York and shortly began his involvement with the Colorado ASSE, joining the executive committee as the website chair and secretary.  Dave's interests outside of safety are travel, live music, pets, cooking and spending time with his family and 3 year old daughter Cassidy.

MEET JEFFREY CITRONE

Manager Health & Safety Compliance, Kahuna Ventures

Jeffrey started as an oil exploration and production geologist and has over 36 years of experience in the environmental, health and safety field. He has performed a variety of activities during his career, including developing SH&E management systems for the oil & gas industry. His expeience also includes observing and sampling work processes and conditions in order to evaluate potential exposures to occupational hazards along with evaluating these exposures in order to develop plans and procedures to minimize them. 

MEET CYNTHIA BRAUN

President/Consultant, Braun Safety Assoc.

Cynthia is known nationwide for her expertise in the development and enthusiastic delivery of EHS training for all employee levels. She has delivered full-day Professional Development Courses for the ASSE since 2004. She teaches OSHA 10/30 Hour courses, prepares student and instructor manuals for a variety of topics, develops/edits computer-based training materials for clients and commercial media companies, and coaches safety trainers in professional techniques. As owner of the business, Cynthia oversees all project design and management, business development, and client maintenance.

MEET NICK TALOCCO

Technical Director, LT Environmental

Nick has been working in the environmental industry conducting a variety of consulting services including Storm Water Management Plans (SWMPs) and inspections, wetland, threatened and endangered observations, remediation system design and oversight. He conducts initial site characterization and has great experience as project manager. Nick has over a decade of experience in conducting asbestos and lead surveys, stormwater permitting, mold investigation and mold remediation oversight.
